Pre-Treatment Care
- Avoid tanning or extended sun exposure for 2 weeks before and after each treatment.
- Pick up an anesthetic cream from our office prior to the day of your appointment.
- Remove all make-up from your face and apply anesthetic cream approximately 45 minutes prior to your treatment. The anesthetic cream will be removed by the practitioner just prior to your treatment.
- Bring your anesthetic cream with you to your treatment. Your practitioner will re-apply anesthetic cream immediately after your treatment.
- If you are prone to cold sores, take an anti-viral medication (such as Valtrex) prior to your treatment.
What to Expect During and Immediately After Treatment
- Your treatment should be comfortable. We use a cooling device called a Zimmer and anesthetic cream to maximize your comfort.
- Expect moderate to severe discomfort in the treated area for approximately 48 hours after your treatment. Ibuprofen can be taken to alleviate discomfort.
- Expect healing to occur slowly for the first 5 days, and rapidly after that
- The full benefit of Laser Skin Resurfacing will be seen within 2 months from collagen and elastin rebuilding.
- Schedule a free consultation so that our Master Estheticians can give you detailed information about what to expect and how to care for your skin after a skin resurfacing treatment
