Liposuction

There is only one way to eliminate fat cells out of the body and that is Liposuction. Although there are different forms of Liposuction such as laser assisted Liposuction, traditional Liposuction is defined as the removal of fat from deposits beneath the skin using a hollow stainless steel tube (called a cannula) with the assistance of a powerful vacuum. Liposuction can be accomplished either with the use of general anesthesia, or with heavy IV sedation, or totally by local anesthesia. The concept of liposuction is surprisingly simple. Liposuction is a surgical technique that improves the body’s contour by removing excess fat from deposits located between the skin and muscle. Fat removal is accomplished as the suction cannula creates tiny tunnels through the fatty layers. After surgery, these tiny tunnels collapse and thus result in an improved body contour. At Elase Surgery Center, our board certified plastic surgeons have decades of experience with traditional Liposuction so you can trust your body to the best physician and skill. Liposuction can be done on almost any are of the body where there is excess fat. Some popular areas are the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, arms and back. For pockets of fat, SmartLipo is an option as well as for smaller areas such as the chin and neck. SmartLipo also offers skin tightening to the treated area.
